Our Local Recommendations
Towns to visit
Ostuni (The White City)
A beautiful town made up of winding whitewashed streets and amazing views over the countryside. We’d definitely recommend Borgo Antico Bistrot for sunset – grab a drink, order some antipasti, stay for the views.
Alberobello
You can’t come to Puglia without seeing the famous trulli houses! It’s such a fun little town to wander around – think tiny lanes, cute ceramic shops, and plenty of places to stop for lunch.
Polignano a Mare
A must for sea views (and Aperol spritz). The town sits right on the cliffs with loads of bars and restaurants overlooking the water. Lama Monachile, is one of the most photographed spots in Puglia, perfect for a dip!
Monopoli
A lovely old fishing town that feels a bit more local and laid-back. It’s great for a relaxed wander through the old town and dinner by the harbour, there are tons of great seafood restaurants to choose from.
Matera
A bit of a drive, but totally worth it. Matera is unlike anywhere else, the whole city is built into the rock with ancient cave dwellings. It’s also where they filmed parts of the James Bond movie No Time to Die – you’ll definitely recognise the scenery! It’s a great day trip if you want something a bit different and don’t mind an early start.
